Bathgate gala day 2013

So some of my facebook friends saw me talking about the gala day coming today and some of you were clueless to what it was.
Our gala days are a yearly event, every town has one and they follow in succession for a few weeks , one or 2 every weekend.
The day starts with a ceremony, crowning gala queen and all her guards, maids etc it lasts up to 40 minutes, We then have a procession - a walk through the center of town, floats costumes, music from bands, speakers, pipers etc and lots of throwing sweets , money and water guns haha
After the procession we all go to the park where stalls, races, events, dog shows and lots to do and see go on all day , lots of food venues, bbq's and noise .
The day goes onto evening where there's a disco and of course the show park open all day with fun fair rides and shows and games is open until midnight, all the surrounding night clubs open till 4am too and its basically the best gala day to kick start the season every year. Literally thousands turn up for this every year and its the polices busiest night of the year locally for all the nighttime drunken brawls . Then at midnight the skies were lit up by a huge display of firworks.
We had sun today and lots of smiles and i've put together a rather manic video trying to cram as much in as i could, it was noisy, energetic, tiring and fun and now here were all shattered and ready for bed so early. SO excuse the shortness of the blog and enjoy my video xx
