quiet day with nothing to say

Seems like the rain has taken away my inspiration! I have nothing much to blog today, plan on getting my head down and working away with my orders to catch up. Its my daughter Chloes birthday in a few days so im in panic mode buying gifts both online and in trips to town. Why is it you feel like you have never bought enough and then look back in misery and say she was spoiled i bought too much lol.

I am making her cake again this year as i enjoy decorating cakes from time to time, couldnt do it more often as its a bit too messy a hobby for my liking. I prefer things that wont get my hands wet or dirty lol.

My partner has started selling portraits on facebook through my page and i must say hes getting so much interest i dont know why he didnt do this a lo9ng time ago. He does pencil sketches mostly but im trying to move him into colour and canvasses too for a broader range of things for people to buy.

I myself do childrens art for there rooms, i love bright and simple and have uploaded some pictures for you to see of past work, i sell these for £5 per A4 unframed colour picture and i can also add personalisations. Once again you will find these on my facebook at this link https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.162297423848503.40033.100002047406275&type=1

Well i better be off and tend to my housework and orders today im sorry i was all Blah blahhed out but guess it will happen from time to time, until we meet again goodbye n happy crafting xxx

introducing my dreamcatchers with a difference

Morning all well my cup of tea is absent thanks to the ever slow other half, the deal was that i cycle chloe to school and he makes me a cuppa on return but alas here i sit tealess while he makes excuses hmmmmmm. Cant get good help anymore lol.
So i started my new line of dreamcatchers with a difference this week, my aim is to make them a more attractive item in a decor rather than the native american styling. I found that dreamcatchers are amazing for young children who have problems with nightmares, and the pink one pictured is actually the one i made for my own daughter, she believes so truly that they catch bad dreams she is no longer having any . It amazes me the power of the mind. My only grumble was the style as it didnt quite go with the decor even though i made it in pink and fluffy i wasnt happy with how it looked in her room, although chloe loves it, it pushed me to make another in a country garden inspired style and i plan on making many more themes, sky is the limit after all. I am selling the garden one on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/liana.marcelhandmades
Yesterday my chloe and i set about the task of making millies style choc chip cookies which was a success , we made 20 large yummy gooey cookies , some a bit burnt round the edges and i found it maybe needed some oven tweeking but the recipe was sound, i decided i should share it with you all. So when i write it out and post it online ill come back and link to this blog with it. Take it from a huge millies cookie addict these are almost as good.
I have also been brainstorming on how to make more unique items to me rather than my spin on things made over and over by crafters i love uniqueness and love to design, my dream job would be designing fabrics and kits for crafters. Art is a huge part of my life and i love photography. Im attracted to so many styles and patterns that if i were to decorate a room in what i love without restraint it would be a multicoloured ecclectic and crammed room full of goodies, sparkle, fluff and colour. If i knew how to have my fabric designs printed i would be making oober cool things like bags and purses and cushions endlessly.
I used to make 3d canvas art for children and im thinking of starting again, my most popular was a castle in pink fabrics on a garden scene with fluffy bushes and rosebuds, sparkly clouds and anything i could glue on to make it beautiful and im thinking i should bring them back . I know im juggling a million crafts but i get bored easily if i stick to one thing for too long and lose my crafting bug feeling. If i dot and change i have boundless endless energy for making things.
I dont really have much to say today my heads a bit fuzzy from what i fear is an impending cold so fluffy blanket and thick socks are at the ready with my knitting incase it gets worse lol, any excuse to knit up something while watching movies lol.

i also decided my blog should have some use like a daily tip or daily uselful link so todays crafting tit bit is a website i fell upon, i havent explored it much so would love some feedback on what you think of ithttp://www.freecraftstuff.co.uk/
and until tomoro have a good day making lovelies xxx

when its raining i get more done

https://www.facebook.com/#!/liana.marcelhandmades

good morning lovelies, well seeing as i live in central scotland its no surprise that its raining, dark and miserable but for me thats a good thing for it means i will actually get things done today! See if it was sunny i would cut the grass, bask in the unusual sun for a bit maybe play with zack in the garden, stroll with chloe to school and generally waste the day with sun related tasks lol. SO for me a miserable day is a productive one so im getting my felt out and sewing thread and making some felt roses.

SO far i have made one while watching The A team movie last night and i love them, i found the patterns in a crafter magazine called mollies makes, quite simple really and the results are fabulous, i aim to make half a dozen before deciding what to adorn with them, im a bit random like that.

Today i am also working on another designed tote bag, if you go to my facebook LIANAMARCEL HANDMADES you will see i make them to order with character faces of the childs choice and there name. Today i have a lightening mcqueen car task!

If i get that done with time to spare i am then going to make my 2nd ever dreamcatcher....... the first i made a few days ago for my daughter...its pink and fluffy with silver web and looks fab in her girly room, will post pics when i take some. This i learned to do from a you tube video...dont under estimate the internet ladies its a well of information .

I am also brainstorming a whole book of gorgeous knitted tea party food, i have worked out various cakes and biscuits and still designing donuts and such and hope to put a colour book on lulu.com self publishing site when done to let all you lovelies get your needles out and knit some lucky child a great tea party. I love knitting although i do not have as much patience for bigger projects i like to see the results of what im working on quickly sometimes im too impatient and have been known to abandon large time consuming projects for days at a time to work on smaller ideas. I have an idea to also publish the book of current small knitted things i sell, dainty dolls and itty babies and such there gorgeous keepsakes you can find on my facebook to which i will post a link.

Apart from all the glorious crafting things i have to do today i still have the usual mum duties, unfortunately my tumble dryer had a break down due to over working lol and now i am having to hang clothes up on washing lines and clothes horses which is a bit of a shock to the system. I dont pretend to be a domestic goddess in fact id say as a rule my house is a tip a lot more than its ever tidy. Well wouldnt you choose craft over housework too?

Ok so im open to any ideas on comments on what to blog about tomoro? do you want a talk through tutorial or more garb like today, i hope as i get better at this my blogs will have more structure and usefulness, pictures and links... i would also love for you to leave me any links to great tips and projects i can then do my own spin on...design and creation are my favourite part!

Soooooo until tomoro when we meet again au revoir and happy crafting , whatever you may be making today good luck and i know it will turn out fabulous xxxxxxxx

my first craft blog HEEELLLPPP

ok so i was mulling over a magazine reading about blogs and such, contemplating the days workload, ignoring the massive pile of dishes and the washing laying on the kitchen floor when it came to me....i must blog. Now having unsuccesfully registered on blog sites before and having absolutely nothing to say i then began to wonder how to blog about crafts. I mean i am a bit over obsessed in the craft and arts department but its not something i find a great deal to converse about! So heres the plan if you happen to fall upon my ramblings, i will try to post daily, usually in the morning before the tired fuzz of endless stitching clouds my sometimes bright brain. I will try to describe my current project and hope to make some you tube tutorials once i get my camcorder back (word of advice never lend a friend something of value or great need!).

Maybe before i begin i should tell you a little about myself, who i am , what i do where i came from etc.
Ok so where to start....my name is leanne, i know thats contradicting the name i work under but there is method to my madness, i wanted my items to become a brand and not just a person that made things, i also wanted a name that sounded nicer than my own and kept my personal sites seperate from craft related ones...dont ask me why it seemed a good idea at the time and Liana Marcel was born.
im 31, i am engaged to my partner of 8 years and we have 2 lovely children, chloe aged 5 and zack almost 2. We live in a 3 bedroom new build house in bathgate in scotland. I love my home and where i live. I have a huuuge family of arty creative people, and i come from a long line of singers, actors and artists.
I myself trained as a beauty therapists in my early twenties as i also have an obsession with make up and for a while ran a you tube make up channel, i now hope to fill that channel with my real passion, something i used to be embarrassed about doing (woah the teens) and thats crafting.
i have done it all, dabbled here and there...ive been a singer in a girl band then a brit pop band, ive been a model, a writer, a reptile rescue manager, worked in endless call centres including 192 and sky tv. The only thing i havent tried is acting..hmmm maybe thats where i went wrong lol.
I am a craftaholic in that i dont have one but many many crafts, i learn quickly, love to improvise and mix crafts and have a yearning to learn more and more. For that reason i am addicted to you tube and i can be found daily buying supplies on ebay.
I hope to continue with my facebook page as i now have many loyal customers and hope to aim higher for the future. i have a couple of books to self publish in the works, i already have one online called oh bailey which i illustrated myself and dedicated to my daughter chloe, i have loads of ideas for tutorial videos and my partner a joiner to trade is going to start working alongside me in the furniture and bespoke wooden items side of things.

well i see for someone who had nothing to say i have actually said a lot (a lot of nothing but still a lot) I guess i better shut up for if you wanted to read a novel today you probably wouldn't be on a blogger site. i hope you join me from time to time and catch up as this is just my beggining and hopefully over time i will eventually start to become amusing and have something worth reading lol.
As i like to say....if you cant have a laugh whats the point!
